A Message to Future Me

Posted on March 12, 2026March 12, 2026 by FCP

[A polished transcript of a recording from 10 August, 2026 C.E.]

Sometimes the future feels uncertain… and the only person who can answer it is you.

Hey man.

Me — future Me.

This is past Me talking to you.

Depending on what happens… anything could happen.

Maybe by the time you’re hearing this, something in your life has changed.
Maybe things have become uncertain.
Maybe you’re scared.
Maybe you’re depressed.
Maybe you’re worried.

If that’s the case, those feelings are okay.

Worst case scenario?

You die, go back to the ether, and maybe you come back and try again in some similar way. Maybe you won’t.

Either way… it’s going to be okay.

This whole thing — life — is just playing the game for a while.

But if you’re listening to this because the world feels heavy right now… if things feel like too much…

Then listen carefully.

You’ve done a fucking kickass job.

And you’re still doing a kickass job.

Don’t give up.

It’s Not Over

It’s not over until the fat lady sings, man.

You know that.

You’ve always known that.

Sure, you can have a pity party sometimes. That’s human. But you also know when a pity party has gone on long enough.

And if you’re listening to this right now, maybe that’s exactly what this is — a reminder that the pity party is over.

You’re me.

And I’m you.

You’ll remember this.

But don’t think about this recording when you’re at the very end of your life.

Think about your life itself.

Think about the family.

Think about the good you did.

You’ve done a kickass job.
And you’re still doing a kickass job.

Imperfect Lives

You’ve done some bad things.

You hurt some people.
You stole some things.
You made mistakes.

You haven’t lived a perfect life — far from it.

But overall?

You’ve done better than a lot of people.

And anyway… good and bad aren’t really as absolute as we pretend they are.

Sometimes shit just happens.

And when shit happens… what do we do?

We work with it.

You can lie down in the mess and let it sit there and stink until time eventually washes it away.

Or you can deal with it.

You can clean it up and move forward faster.

You know which option we usually choose.

How We Deal With Things

We deal with things by not taking them too seriously.

We laugh.

We keep moving.

Yes, sometimes the world weighs on you.

You worry about the way things could be.

But if anything, moments like this are reminders to enjoy life a little more.

Take things a little less seriously.

Stop worrying so much about everything else going on in the world.

If this turns out to be something serious — if it’s the big C or something like that — well… that happens to people all the time.

Random people.

Good people.

Healthy people.

You were foolish to think it could never happen to you.

But Look At Your Life

Life has always thrown obstacles in your way.

And every single time someone said no…

Every time something blocked your path…

Every time things looked bleak…

You made it through.

One way or another.

You can do that again.

If you lie down and accept defeat, then sure — you’re done.

But you know the power of mindset.

You know the power of words.

You know how to fire yourself up.

Whatever this is — if it’s something serious — you can carry it.

Look at how strong you are.

Physically, yes.

But mentally too.

You’ve carried a lot already.

The Bookshelf

You know how the brain works when you lie down at night.

Old memories pop up.

Things you thought you let go of.

Moments you replay again and again.

And honestly, I believe we should let things go.

But not everything.

Sometimes memories should sit on a shelf.

Like books.

The book is there.

You know what’s inside it.

Sometimes you take it down and look at it.

Most of the time you don’t.

But it’s still there.

And that’s okay.

Sometimes the mind just needs to put the book back on the shelf.

Your Future Is Bright

Your future is bright.

You’re young.

If something is wrong right now, be glad you’re dealing with it now and not at fifty.

You still have that fighting spirit.

At fifty you might shrug and say, “Eh… good enough.”

But right now?

You fight.

And if the time ever comes when fighting is no longer the answer, you’ll know that too.

But that’s the very end.

And we’re nowhere near that.

Let It Come

Fear might show up.

Unease might show up.

Doubt might show up.

Let it come.

See it.

Wave to it.

But don’t let it stay.

When a guest stays too long at your house, you politely ask them to leave.

Do the same thing with fear.

Let it come.
See it.
Wave to it.

Worst Case Scenario

Honestly, this might not even be a big deal.

You might just be inside your own head.

And luckily the thing you’re worried about is in your thigh.

Worst case scenario?

You chop the leg off.

Would that suck?

Of course.

But we both know something important.

The things you want in life are worth more than a leg.

What You Actually Want

You want a family.

You want to hold your kid when they cry.

You want to sing them to sleep.

You want to watch them grow up and give them everything you never had.

That matters more than body parts.

So keep that focus.

But remember something else too.

You’ve spent a lot of time focusing on becoming a father.

And that’s important.

But the real goal is family.

A wife you love.

A life you build together.

Experiences.

Memories.

A home.

A world a child can grow into.

Don’t skip the rest of the picture.

One Moment At A Time

Right now I already feel better after saying all of this.

And if you’re listening to it later…

I hope it helps you feel better too.

Just take it one moment at a time.

Remember your mantras:

Every moment I’m getting better.
Every second I’m getting stronger.
I’m healthy.
I’m surviving.
I’m healing.

And in the end…

Whatever happens, happens.

But you still get to choose how you meet it.

And if you ever forget that…

Past you left this here to remind you.

Wishing you all the best,
Full Color Psycho 🙃
