We came to this country for freedom.
People fought and DIED for YOUR (EVERYONE’S) FREEDOM.
Everything that you thought had meaning— every hope, dream, or moment of happiness— none of it matters as you lie, bleeding out on the battlefield.
None of it changes what a speeding bullet does to a body.
We all die.
But does that mean our lives are meaningless?
Does that mean there was no point in our being born?
Would you say that of our slain comrades that sacrificed themselves so that we may have the lives we have today?
What about their lives?
Were they meaningless?
THEY WERE NOT!
THEIR MEMORY SERVES AS AN EXAMPLE TO US ALL!!
THE COURAGEOUS FALLEN!
THE ANGUISHED FALLEN!
Their lives have meaning because we, the living, REFUSE TO FORGET THEM!
And as we all inevitably head toward the end that is death, as we do good out into the world, as we do the BEST we can for OURSELVES and for EACH OTHER, we trust our successors to do the same for us.
Because we, as people, as Americans, as children of the Earth we do NOT buckle or yield when faced with the cruelty of this world.
WE PUSH FORWARD!
WE SCREAM OUT!
WE RAGE!
WE FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!
WE FIGHT FOR FREEDOM, WE FIGHT FOR LOVE, WE FIGHT FOR EVERYONE’S RIGHT TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT TO DO (so long as it does not infringe on the life, liberty, or pursuit of happiness of another being) BECAUSE WE ARE ALL FREE.
Freedoms are being infringed on folks, rights are being taken away, America is fighting from within itself and the fighting must cease. A house divided cannot stand, WE MUST UNITE
We are ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, ONE AND INDIVISIBLE.
(Don’t like the word “God” atheists? Well replace the word “God” with “nothing” and that falls right in line with your beliefs too)
It’s time to repair some damage, it’s time to start listening to other people, and I mean REALLY listening. Not waiting for your turn to speak, not thinking “this is bullshit” because you have already come to your own conclusions. Putting what you think aside (not forgetting it of course) and really listening to what people have to say. If only so you can better guide them away from what is detrimental to themselves/others.
I believe most people are good, I believe most people are smart, and I believe most people have been led to conclusions artfully/manipulatively rather than coming to the conclusion themselves. This makes them misguided, NOT BAD.
We are very extremely polarized right now and it’s because we are REFUSING to listen to others. “No way they’re right”, “they drank the koolaid”. To be clear, this is the mindset of BOTH SIDES. And shame on all of you (the ones this applies to, you know who you are. If you are good then this does not apply to you).
If you really wanted to do good, you would want to unravel the “evil” that has ensnared their mind. You would NOT say “they’re hopeless”, “they’re stupid”, “can’t fix crazy”.
It’s time to end this folks, it’s time to start healing the house, it’s time to sit down and talk, and it’s time to start finding the middle path that is best for ALL and not just what one side thinks is right.
If you think something is impossible, you’ve given up without even trying.
How many tries did it take for the lightbulb? What would have happened if he stopped on the first attempt? What about the 500th? Would about the 999th? We would have not gotten the lightbulb as early as we did.
It took 1,001 tries to make the lightbulb. When do you quit trying?
The path is long and hard, failures are daunting, these conversations drain you— but every person is worth it. The figurative lightbulb going off in someone’s head is worth it!!
You don’t have to try 1,001 tries either, that sounds daunting and again, most people have not built the strength/pure will to be able to do that.
You just have to find the one right way. You can do it, you can overcome ALL and ANYTHING in your path; I believe in you— even if nobody else believes in you— even if you don’t believe in yourself.
Wishing you all the best,
FCP 🙃
