Do you know what it’s like to be alone?
Do you know the darkest dark?
Do you know what it’s like to feel like nothing, feel like a burden upon the world, feel like the world would just be better off if only you were dead.
To feel helpless?
I’m sure you do, I have felt these things as well. I believe we all have.
These feelings that I have had in my past, feelings that almost drove me to suicide myself, are what drive me today.
I no longer feel like that. I used to be beat down and curled into my little ball just crying from the very core of my soul. Fortunately for me, I found the strength to continue on– to stand up and say “I AM WORTH IT”.
Some of you have done the same and know what I’m talking about.
It’s possible that some people may know what I’m talking about themselves. Others don’t believe it, “it’s not that easy”, well who ever claimed it was easy? You have to claw yourself out of the darkness, it doesn’t let go of you willingly– but it is possible and everyone has this power. I would like to show them this power.
When I see someone crying, and saying that no one needs them, that it’s impossible for things to change toward the positive. I HAVE to prove them wrong. I need them to be ok. Because they are worth it. This is why I do what I do.
Everyone needs a home, everyone needs friends and family to know that even when they do feel loney that they’re not alone.
EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU ARE ONE OF US.
YOU ARE OUR NEIGHBOR, YOU ARE OUR SIBLING, YOU ARE A FELLOW HUMAN BEING AND YOU ARE SPECIAL AND BEAUTIFUL AND INFINITELY VALUABLE.
WE CARE ABOUT YOU.
So you need to decide. This is your life, do you want to actually live it?
Are you going to be here and see it through the end NO MATTER HOW MUCH ADVERSITY is against you? Or are you just making a quick cameo?
WHO ARE YOU LIVING FOR?
Who have you lived for when you feel like you can’t take anymore?
When life is just SO HARD?
You may not have much but I’ll tell you what you do have:
HEART and SOUL!!
Regardless of the lowest lows (and the “few” highs) that you have ever experienced, you have found yourself here. Maybe this is exactly what you needed to hear for yourself, or maybe what you needed to hear so that you may have the fire ignited in you to help others.
Are you just going to stand around and drown like a turkey with all of this rain falling down around you, or are you going to go dance in it?
WHAT ARE YOU LIVING FOR?
Everybody’s skin is different, but NOT THEIR BONES.
Understand that even though you may feel lonely that you are ever really alone.
Part the clouds of your mind and let the sunshine in.
Let in the happy days, you can have them if you open the door and welcome them in.
Just because you open the door for happiness doesn’t mean it’ll be all fine and dandy– there will be hardship too.
But WE WILL FIND A WAY
STAND UP, please, just one last time.
If we work together I promise you that you’re going to be in a much better place than you were before.
We will celebrate who we are, where we’ve come from, and we’re going to do this every year after this.
Why?
BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR.
You may not be my friend, but you will always be mine.
What have you done so far?
WHO ARE YOU LIVING FOR?
It takes the darkest dark to really be able to appreciate the light.
You had many many falls before you learned to walk, and yet,
HERE YOU ARE!!
WHAT ARE YOU LIVING FOR?
You are just a SPECK in the grand timeline of ALL HISTORY.
LIFE IS FAR TOO SHORT TO TAKE IT AS IT GOES
So STAND UP, STAND TALL, AND LET THE WHOLE WORLD KNOW
Let them know, are you going to lose the game?
Or are you going to go out and CLAIM THE LIFE YOU DESERVE.
WHAT ARE YOU LIVING FOR?
LET IN THE LIGHT, BRING IN THE SUNSHINE.
YES, EVEN BRING THE BAD, IT DOES NOT STAND A CHANCE–
YOU. WILL. CONQUER IT.
So stand up, stand with us, and let’s do it together.
And at the end we’re going to celebrate about where we’ve been, where we are, and from where we’ve come– and we’ll have the brightest shining faces because we’re stronger than what we used to be.
The good, the bad, the sweet, the sad.
You have us, and we have you, and more importantly there is NOTHING that WE CAN’T DO.
Because that’s what friends are for.
YOU ARE NEVER ALONE.
You are one of us.
